Redrawing an Artist’s House
This tzimmer (vacation rental) in the Artists’ Quarter was not just another real-estate asset. The home of a well-known artist, it had artistic value that was important to preserve—without compromising on aesthetics. The authentic materials that remain intact in the asset (after being lavished with “individualized attention,” of course) lend a unique charm and enhance the quaint atmosphere.
The stone walls were preserved with a special type of treatment. The detachable wooden parts in the ceilings and doors were painted and restored. Blue was chosen as the predominant color in a nod to the color most prevalent in the alleyways of Tzefat. All the accessories were carefully selected to highlight the uniqueness of the place without compromising on aesthetics. The lighting accentuates the materials and the color, making the space comfortable and inviting.
